Annual Report: 2000 in Review
In January 2000 we brought in baby pictures and tried to guess whose the picture was.  We talked about what we did over the millennium.  We designed our poster, and discussed going to Jamaica and how we would fundraise such a big event.  We wrote letters and sent them to Jamaica.  We started plans for their visit and who would billet with whom.
On May 20 the Youth Group helped with the annual yard sale.  On June 4 we finished the term with a church picnic.
Usually we break over the summer but we spent this summer making new friends from Jamaica.  From August 8-15 the youth had a wonderful week as two countries became one, showing them around the area.  The joint church service was very touching and spiritually uplifting.
In September we started having one Sunday a month geared to youth -- singing, putting on a play, reading, helping with the Christmas pageant, etc.
Our fall fundraisers included doing crafts for the Frosty Fair, a Sparta candle party, a music night (compliments of Angus Macleod), a pancake breakfast, a chili lunch, cheese sales, and raking leaves.
One Sunday in November everyone dug in and cleaned boots for the boot blitz.  We also supplied the tree, lights and tree top for the Christmas tree.
