Introduction  | Outreach Health Stewardship

The first meeting of the newly formed Stewardship Committee was held May 15, 2002. Present: Linda Newbery, Chair; Don Hurst, Barb Mayer and Jean Veale. Regrets: Clair and Jean Rolfe. Guest: Judith Johnstone.

Hamilton Conference stewardship consultant Judith Johnstone presented an overview of her role and ideas on how to launch a new Stewardship initiative.

The group exchanged material and ideas on how to enhance and encourage people to become involved in the life and work of St. James. It is anticipated that the new Interim Minister will help to encourage Stewardship in St. James.

It is hoped that all fundraising initiatives being considered by any groups or individuals within the St. James family, and/or ideas for same, will be brought to the attention of the Stewardship Chair so that we can coordinate same and maximize the work effort.

This committee will continue trying to recruit more people to serve on this committee as some of the people attending this meeting may only want to help with specific projects.

Doug Devlin and Ann McNall will be asked to help with information on financial matters and giving patterns.

Stewardship Motto: Care of Time; Care of the Earth; Care of Self; Care of Money.
